Lee Blackett joined Wasps as backs coach ahead of the 2015/16 season from Championship club Rotherham where he had been the youngest head coach in English rugby’s top two flights for the previous two seasons.
During this time he guided the Clifton Lane club to successive appearances in the play-off semi-finals - two remarkable against-the-odds achievements.
Blackett’s playing career was also spent in Yorkshire where he captained Rotherham prior to joining Leeds Carnegie, for whom he appeared on either the wing or in the centre.
And it was during his time at Headingley that Blackett scored the Premiership’s quickest ever try – 8.28 seconds after the start of his club’s home game with Newcastle in 2008.
Wasps’ backs coach’s early playing days were spent at National League Fylde.
