Wasps are urging supporters to arrive early and stay late for our home Christmas fixture to soak up the Club’s biggest ever line-up of entertainment.
Eleven different attractions are rocking up to Ricoh Arena ahead of the Black and Golds’ Gallagher Premiership clash against Harlequins on Saturday 21 December, with pre-match festivities running from 12pm until 2.30pm - culminating in a bumper firework display in the stadium bowl after the match.
Up to 6,500 people will be able to pack into Ricoh Arena’s Ericsson Indoor Arena pre-match, with 6,000 square metres of space being transformed into a festive circus, which will include a fun fair and stilt walkers.
Families can also get up close to reindeer and elves, as well as exploring a giant snow globe.
Others can flex their vocal cords by joining in with carol singing, while local dance group Godiva Academy of Performing Arts will be performing festive routines.
“Our Christmas fixture is one of the standout events in families’ calendars across the region, which is why we are laying on a bumper Fan Village this year,” said Verity Brown, Marketing Manager at Wasps.
“It’s more than just a rugby match, but an occasion for the whole family to have a day out and make memories – and the Fan Village that we have laid on this year enables families to do just that.
“More than 15,000 tickets had been sold for the game with over a month to go, so we are expecting another bumper crowd this year.
“We’d urge supporters to allow extra time for their journeys to Ricoh Arena so that they have enough time to walk round the Fan Village before taking their seats for the match – and the fireworks!”
