Wasps history makes sports book awards shortlist

Date: 10 May 2018

Wasps are delighted to announce that their official 150th anniversary history has been shortlisted for The London Sporting Club Rugby Book of the Year 2018.

Co-written by Barney Burnham and Marcus Williams, edited by Duncan Jones and published by Vision Sports Publishing, the 250-page volume is one of six nominees for the award.
The other contenders also have a strong Wasps flavour, with books by former players Rob Andrew and Billy Vunipola taking two of the places on the list.

Also nominated are former Wales and Lions full back Lee Byrne's autobiography, a biography of the legendary Lions coach Carwyn James, and a look back at the 1971 Lions tour, when James famously steered his side to a historic series victory over the All Blacks.
The Sports Book Awards, which is now in its 16th year, features a host of brilliant sportsmen and sportswomen, writers & journalists in nine different categories. The awards will be presented at a star-studded ceremony at Lord’s Cricket Ground on the evening of June 7.
After the individual category winners have been announced, each winner will be promoted in a media and retail campaign in the run-up to Father’s Day on June 17th, when an online public vote will determine the overall Sports Book of the Year.
