Wasps hosted a sports day at the Coventry Building Society Arena last week welcoming 40 young people from across Coventry as part of Coventry City Council's Holiday Activities and Food programme (HAF).
The day was free for all participants who were eligible to receive free school meals and had a mix of different sporting activities, as well as a behind the scenes tour of the Coventry Building Society Arena.
The day included rugby, netball and multi sports activities with the aim of introducing some new sports, keeping everyone active and providing a healthy lunch for all participants.
Wasps Head of Community Ian Isham said: “It was great to see so many young people come and keep active during the summer holidays, as well as enjoying a healthy lunch.
“The HAF scheme is a great initiative and the support from Coventry City Council, Coventry Building Society and Foleshill Community Centre was crucial to making the day a success.
“Our thanks go to the Council and Coventry Building Society for helping to fund this initiative. Off the back of this great event we hope to be able to offer more of these types of opportunities in the future.”
