Following Wasps's bonus point 40-33 win against Worcester Warriors at the Ricoh Arena, Director of Rugby Dai Young was pleased to get the result, but was left disappointed by the performance.
"At the end of the day a wins a win, five points is five points and we couldn't have got any more out out of the game, but to be honest I don't think there were too many positives.
"We left a lot of points out there, we made things look extremely hard, when we didn't need to. We got turned over far too many times at the tackle area and defensively we conceded five tries, which isn't good enough."
Young was keen to point to Worcester Warriors' contribution to the game, as they pushed his side all the way to the very end.
"Lot's of credit to Worcester, I think if that game had gone on another five minutes, they could have nicked it. I thought for big parts of that game the score flattered us. Worcester probably blew one or two opportunities which could have got their noses in front."
Asked about the contribution of man of the match Christian Wade, Young said:
"I thought Christian Wade was really good in attack and created and scored a couple of good tries for us. I think it was a game that we were lucky to win, we had a little bit of extra quality in some of the players like Christian and that just got us over the line."
Despite the bonus point win against a tough Worcester side, Young was left dissatisfied with the performance.
"As a whole I am pretty disappointed with the performance, Worcester deserve lots of credit, but we are going to have to be better."
