European champions visit the Ricoh in European pool stage finale
Date: 17 Aug 2018
European rugby’s governing body EPCR have confirmed arrangements for the pool stages of the 2018/19 Heineken European Cup.
For a second consecutive season Wasps face Irish opponents in the opening and closing rounds of action, while a mouth-watering French double-header takes place during December.
The black-and-golds have been handed a challenging opening pool one assignment at the RDS home of reigning champions Leinster on Friday October 12 (kick off 7.45pm).
David Young’s team then face consecutive home games in rounds two and three.
The first of these pits them against 1998 champions and Gallagher Premiership rivals Bath at 3.15pm on Saturday October 20.
And the Ricoh is sure to be packed when French heavyweights and four-time Heineken Cup winners Toulouse bring their star-studded line-up to Coventry on Saturday December 8 at 5.30pm.
The return fixture at the Stade Ernest Wallon then follows seven days later on Saturday December 15 (4.15pm kick off local time).
When the competition resumes in January, Wasps face Bath at the Rec on Saturday January 12 at 3.15pm before concluding their qualifying campaign against Leinster at the Ricoh on Sunday January 20 at 3.15pm.
