Wasps supporters are being given the chance to channel their inner Jimmy Gopperth on the Ricoh Arena pitch at the Club’s next home game.
The Club will be drawing two lucky supporters at random to showcase their kicking skills in front of thousands of people, during the interval between Wasps and Gloucester Rugby on Saturday 7 March (2.30pm kick-off).
The drop-goal challenge will see an England supporter pitted against a Wales supporter ahead of the Six Nations clash between the two countries later that evening at 4.45pm, which is also being shown in the Wasps Nest Fan Village after the Gallagher Premiership showdown between Wasps and Gloucester.
The two competitors will each have 60 seconds to score as many drop-goals as they can, with the winner landing themselves a signed Wasps jersey, rugby ball, and patriotic bragging rights.
Verity Brown, Marketing Manager at Wasps, said: “England and Wales games are always tight affairs and usually involves sheds of banter, and as the Six Nations fixture tags directly on to the back of Wasps’ big game with Gloucester, we thought we’d get supporters warmed up for the international clash with an England and Wales face-off of our own.
“The challenge is open for absolutely everyone to enter – if you’re a season member or have bought a ticket for the game, then you can register your interest in our online form by Wednesday 4 March.
“The two lucky supporters will be notified just before matchday – so if you’re entering make sure you’ve been practicing your drop-goals, as you never know, you could be stepping out and representing your country on Ricoh Arena’s hallowed turf!”
