End of Season Awards funds raised to go towards grassroots rugby in local region
Date: 3 Oct 2019
Wasps’ End of Season Awards evening in May raised an amazing £26,971 which has been presented to the Wasps Community Foundation to develop grassroots rugby across Coventry, Warwickshire and the wider West Midlands.
The cheque was presented by Charlie Pragnell from family-owned, Stratford-upon-Avon jewellers Pragnell, who sponsored the event, along with Ben Harris, the Wasps loosehead-prop and Ian Isham, Wasps Head of Community.
“To receive this amount is an unbelievable achievement,” said Isham. “The money will help to fund a variety of different projects that we run to ensure rugby is having a positive impact on the 60,000 people that we engage with every year.
“The money raised will go to support our inclusion and employability strands of delivery, supporting programmes such as Playing Advantage and HITZ.
“Wasps Rugby Club and the Wasps Community Foundation gratefully acknowledge the support that we have received from Pragnell.”
James Wootton, Wasps Head of Commercial Sales, said: “As presenting partner of the End of Season Awards, Pragnell have shown tremendous support over the past seasons. Each season, this event receives more exposure and the money raised for the Wasps Community Foundation is always so well received.
“Having such a well-established brand behind this event always adds to the glitz and glamour around the evening – all of the support is very much appreciated.”
The date and ticket details for the 2019/20 End of Season Awards dinner at Ricoh Arena are set to be announced soon.
