Design a house for Sting with Redrow Homes

Date: 21 Mar 2017

Youngsters across Coventry and Warwickshire are being given a unique chance to entertain thousands of rugby supporters at the Ricoh Arena.

Wasps and housebuilders Redrow Homes have invited children to design a new house for club mascot, Sting, in the Wasps Fan Village before their home game against Worcester Warriors on Sunday, March 26 (KO 2.30pm).

The two best drawings will be picked by the Wasps squad after the deadline on Monday, March 27, with the two winners joining Sting’s squad for Wasps’ next home game against Northampton Saints on Sunday, April 9 (KO 3pm).

The duo will assist Sting pitch side with some dance routines before the game to warm the crowd up before getting up, close and personal with the first team as they run out onto the pitch.

James Wootton, Corporate Sales Manager at Wasps, said: “Sting is on the lookout for a new home but he hasn’t found anything he feels is suitable as of yet, so he is in real need of some inspiration.

“That’s where we’re hoping youngsters’ imaginations can come into play and help him to design the ultimate base when he’s not busy flying around the Ricoh Arena on match days.

“Sting has already enlisted the help of Redrow’s mascots, Buster and Buddy, who are on hand ready to help him, all they need is the right design.

“Sting has told us that nothing is off limits, so the more adventurous the better. Sting isn’t your average Wasp after all!”

Pauline Turnbull is Sales Director at Redrow Homes, who are the Big Match Sponsors for Wasps’ clash against Northampton Saints on April 9.

She added: “We’re really pleased to be working with Wasps. This is a great way of getting youngsters to think about our industry, and who knows, competitions like this could stimulate their interest in a career in building.

“We wish all of the entrants the best of luck, and are looking forward to seeing some of the final designs.”

Youngsters will also be able to draw their own designs in the Fan Village between 12pm and 2pm on Sunday, March 26.  Alternatively, parents can email their child’s design to now.
