Credit and Refund Plan Update

Premiership Rugby recently released fixture dates as part of the restart plans for the 2019/20 season, with Wasps scheduled to resume the Gallagher Premiership season away at Northampton on 16 August and the first match at Ricoh Arena to be played against Worcester on 21 August.

However, even as the league looks to get back up and running next month, it remains uncertain when it will be deemed safe for spectators to attend matches again.

Following today’s announcement by the Government, it is clear that all of the remaining games in the 2019/20 season are likely to be played behind closed doors. Therefore, the Club believe now is the right time to start the credit and refund process.

We recently confirmed that should games need to be played behind closed doors, we will offer current Season Members, Seasonal Hospitality Clients, Match Ticket and Matchday Hospitality Purchasers pro-rata credit in place of any remaining 2019/20 season matches which will be available to use in one of the following ways:

  • ‘Donate’ this amount, or a proportion of it, back to the club, to support Wasps through this very challenging time
  • As part-payment towards a 2020/21 Season Membership
  • As payment towards future match ticket and club purchases in 2020/21
  • For those who prefer, a refund will also be available

Due to the complexities involved with this, the credit and refund process will be done in stages.

Match tickets and matchday hospitality

The process will first open to supporters who have purchased single match tickets or single matchday hospitality for individual Gallagher Premiership fixtures.

All match ticket and matchday hospitality purchasers will be contacted via email during the week commencing Monday 27 July asking them to choose which option they wish to select to use their pro-rata credit.

This will include dates by which to apply, as well as the process and timescales for refunds to be made. Please note that booking fees are non-refundable.

2019/20 Season Memberships and Seasonal Hospitality

Information for supporters with a Season Membership or Seasonal Hospitality for the current 2019/20 Gallagher Premiership season will be confirmed via email soon, although the same credit options will be available to all of these supporters. 

The decision to contact Season Members and Seasonal Hospitality clients after those who have purchased single match tickets or single matchday hospitality has been taken as, due to the numbers involved, this will allow the Club to deal with them in a far more efficient and timely manner.

Credit can be used as payment towards a season ticket for the 2020/21 season or beyond, or for future single match tickets or hospitality.

The launch of 2020/21 Season Memberships is currently on hold in light of the uncertainty surrounding live events. This decision will be continuously reviewed with a new launch date to be put in place in soon.

The situation, although improving, continues to develop rapidly and these plans are based on the information available. Should the Government or PRL adjust their guidelines, we will quickly adapt our plans too and update supporters.
