Wasps can confirm that Alex Pleasants has gone out on loan to Ampthill Rugby Club.
Pleasants joined the Greene King IPA Championship side in February, as they prepared for the start of their Championship campaign.
The 20-year-old has so far featured off the bench in the sides two warm-up fixtures with Bedford Blues and will look to be involved in Ampthill’s opening Championship match against Doncaster Knights this weekend.
The young loosehead-prop joined Wasps’ Senior Academy for the 2019/20 season from the Academy’s ACE Programme.
The Wasps Under 18s graduate, was also involved with Wasps FC (Wasps’ Amateur side) as a junior and has represented Scotland Under 18s and Under 19s.
Wasps Senior Academy winger Toby Baldwin has also joined Pleasants in training at Ampthill this week. Baldwin is another Wasps Under 18 graduate, who joined the Senior Academy this season from Rugby School.
Kevin Harman, Head of Recruitment and Academy, commented: “We are delighted that Alex will get the chance to play some high-quality regular rugby away from Wasps.
“I would like to thank Paul Turner for helping to setup this opportunity to enhance Alex’s development.”
Turner added: “Alex is an exciting young prospect who can only benefit from playing in the Greene King IPA Championship and learning from the experienced front rowers he will be working with at Dillingham Park.”
Everyone at Wasps would like to wish Alex and Toby the very best of luck during their time out on loan.
