Overview
Wasps are committed to working with local communities, utilising the power of sport to provide opportunity, inspiration and education for all. Our community programmes are delivered to a diverse range of individuals and across a number of different settings such as grassroots clubs, primary and secondary schools. You may be asked to deliver across a number of different programmes which have a range of outcomes and delivery methods including coaching sessions and classroom delivery. Within this role you will be responsible for planning and delivery of your coaching sessions as well as reporting back any monitoring or evaluation information requested. The Community Coach position will be field based with delivery of the programme in the local community. In order to deliver these sessions you will be required to have access to suitable transport in order to travel to and from your sessions. |

To deliver Wasps Community programmes across the local community. |
Main duties and responsibilities: |

· To be responsible for high quality delivery of coaching sessions in a variety of different setting including primary and secondary schools, grassroots clubs and other community settings. · Ensure all equipment is correctly set up, maintained, returned and stored. · Ensure that a safe environment is maintained for all. · To keep accurate monitoring records for sessions as instructed by the Wasps Community Team. · To maximise opportunities to raise awareness amongst the target audiences and the surrounding areas of rugby activities and encourage their participation. · To produce regular update reports for the Head of Community, Premiership Rugby and related partners as required · To identify and follow up potential opportunities to develop activities in line with the strategic development of the Wasps Community programme · Comply at all times with Health and Safety regulations and safe working practices in accordance with current legislation · Follow and uphold the Wasps safeguarding policies and procedures |

Required skills and experience: |
|
· Appropriate National Governing Body (NGB) Coaching Award (Essential) · Proven experience of delivering coaching across age groups and environments (Essential) · Knowledge of Child protection and Safeguarding (Essential) · Strong interpersonal skills - ability to build strong relationships with people at all levels both external and internal (Essential) · This role will be subject to a DBS check (Essential) · First Aid Qualified (Desirable) |
