Wasps Netball joined the Vitality Superleague in 2017 and secured back-to-back titles in their first two seasons. Wasps have developed a reputation for excellence and have attracted some of the league’s most high-profile players. This exciting opportunity to join the Wasps Community team will help grow the game of netball and increase the reach of its community programmes.

The Netball Development Officer position will be based at the Coventry Building Society Arena with delivery of the programme in the surrounding areas. Due to the nature of the job some evening and weekend work will be required. Applicants must hold a valid driving license and have access to a suitable vehicle.

 

Role Description:

The main focus of the role is to coordinate and deliver community activity with a particular focus on our Netball Camps programme. The role will include delivery across all community programmes and include working on evening and weekend events. The role will cover all aspects of delivery from planning, implementing, reviewing, and reporting of community programmes.

 

Main duties and responsibilities:

·       To strategically plan and organise an annual programme of holiday netball camps and to deliver as a Head or Assistant Coach at agreed holiday camps

·       To support Wasps Netball in the planning, organisation and promotion of specialist workshops and programmes to include Coaching for Coaches, Mini Wasps, Performance Masterclasses and CPD workshops for teachers.

·       Assist in the planning, organisation and delivery of the Wasps Netball Community Day

·       Work alongside Ticketing and the wider Community team to coordinate and promote the Schools Visit Programme and a programme of Wasps Netball Schools Tournaments throughout the year.

·       Promote and coordinate the delivery of Game Day Masterclass programme

·       Support the Operations and Community teams on home match days

·       Liaise with England Netball to support and promote the development of adult and Young People participation programmes and events

·       Support the ongoing recruitment of casual coaches

·       Meet all programme specific KPIs

·       Promote season and individual ticket sales for Wasps Netball fixtures.

·       Maintain accurate financial records of the netball community programme’s income and expenditure.

·       To support Wasps Community Foundation to access local funding

·       To abide by the Club’s Equal Opportunities and Diversity Policy and Safeguarding Policy

·       To undertake such duties as may be required from time to time as are consistent with the responsibilities of the post and the needs of the Club.

 

Required skills and experience:

·       Netball Coaching UKCC Level 2 qualification

·       First Aid Qualified

·       Proven experience of delivering coaching across age groups and environments

·       Experience of delivering multiple projects concurrently.

·       Experience of planning and delivering community projects

·       Knowledge of Child protection and Safeguarding

·       Strong interpersonal skills - ability to build strong relationships with people at all levels both external and internal

·       Ability to perform in a busy environment

·       Ability to work as part of a team and be flexible to change in an evolving business

·       Ability to work to a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends

·       Ability to make decisions and use own initiative

·       Knowledge in managing and being responsible for budgets would be desirable

·       Current UK Driving License

·       Access to a car

 

Salary:

Up to £21k per annum (dependent on experience) - 12 months fixed term – 35 hours a week with 1-hour unpaid lunch.
