Jimmy Gopperth joined Wasps ahead of the 2015/16 season, returning to the Aviva Premiership, which he introduced himself to in 2009 as a central figure for Newcastle Falcons in the four seasons he was with them, winning back-to-back Premiership Golden Boot awards in 2010 and 2011.
The Kiwi stand-off had an impressive first season in Black and Gold scoring over 250 points and making 27 appearances, including the match-winning conversion in the European Champions Cup Quarter Final against Exeter Chiefs.
The 34-year-old had an outstanding 2016/17 campaign, being named Aviva Premiership Player of the Season, RPA Players' Player of the Year and Wasps Players' Player of the Season. Gopperth won the Aviva Premiership Golden Boot having scored 292 points and scored a huge 351 points in all competitions.
His effort against Northampton Saints was named as the Citizen Try of the Season and Gopperth was named in the Aviva Premiership Dream Team for 2016/17, alongside fellow Wasps Elliot Daly, Joe Launchbury and Christian Wade.
Gopperth joined Leinster Rugby in 2013 and excelled at European level during his two seasons with the three-time European Champions.
Before moving to the Northern Hemisphere, Gopperth played Super Rugby for the Blues and Hurricanes in New Zealand. He has also played for the Junior All Blacks.
