A mobile and destructive scrummager, Nick joined Wasps at the start of 2006/07 from one of the heartlands of front row play, the Cornish Pirates. Bringing with him experience of French and South African rugby, Nick settled in quickly and became a valuable addition to the Wasps squad.
As well as 18 1XV appearances, including three of Wasps Heineken Cup games, he recorded the highest number of A team appearances in 2006/07, including the final when Wasps beat Leicester Tigers to claim the club's first Guinness A League title. Nicko as he is known by his team mates is a graduate of the University of Leicester where he studied BA Business and Finance. Whilst studying Nick secured a place in the Tigers development side and from there moved to play with the Villagers out in South Africa. After six months with the side he returned to England and spent a season with Nottingham before moving across water once more to French side Bourgoin. After Bourgoin he made one final move before joining Wasps, this time to the Cornish Pirates where he played for three years.
After a full season with Wasps Nick cites the 2007 Heineken Cup Semi-Final against Northampton Saints as a personal career highlight and favourite game he has played in for Wasps to date. Nick does however recall the moment when Wasps beat Leicester Tigers in the Heineken Cup final as the best rugby moment he has experienced, explaining that the pride felt as a member of the club was truly unforgettable even if you were not involved on the pitch. This in itself highlighting the real clubman he is.
Joining Wasps with the intention of gaining experience of the Premiership with a strong club, Nick hasn't fallen short of his aims and has set his sights on a secured and integral spot in the 1XV for 2007/08. A very grounded member of the Wasps squad, he credits Alan Paver as one of the most influential characters in his career, having played with him at Cornish Pirates where he benefited greatly from his guidance and professional attitude.
Away from the rugby pitch, Nick favours the outdoors and enjoys spending time walking his dog. He is also a fan of reading with a particular interest in the historical biography genre and lists an eclectic choice of music to his taste, Kenny Rogers noted as a favourite.
