Tim Payne 2010/2011

Tim Payne

After joining Wasps in 2003, prop Tim Payne has gone from strength to strength, to become a Club and international regular. He has now made 191 appearances for Wasps, after making his debut against Leeds in 2003.

At the end of that season he stepped in for the injured Craig Dowd, to play in both the Heineken Cup and Zurich Premiership finals. His performances earned him an England tour call-up and he won his first England Cap in 2004 against Australia.

After playing in the victorious 2005 Premiership final, Payne became a senior prop in the 2005/06 Wasps side and in 2005 he gained two more caps for England in their tour of Australia.

He was again called up to International duty named in Ashton's Six Nations squad, but injury cut his season short after he damaged his ACL in April 2007. Despite missing the rest of the season he made it to the podium to collect a winners' medal for his efforts and went on to feature in England's 2008 Six Nations squad.

Further international caps came in 2008/09 and Tim was then called up as a replacement on the British and Irish Lions tour of South Africa where he played a full 80 minutes against the Emerging Springboks.

He has played in all of England's last twelve games, taking his number of caps to 22.
