Born in Warrington, George Skivington joined Wasps from Saracens Academy and began working his way through the ranks within the Club, starting in the U21 side. He made his first team debut in the 2003 Zurich Anglo-French Challenge, against Stade Francais, and scored a try within minutes of coming off the bench.
The start of the 2004/05 season saw George as a regular in the Wasps A side and despite missing some of the Zurich A League, while recovering from a concussion, he had a successful year which saw him make the first team for several games.
In 2005/06 Skivington had another good run of games for Wasps in the senior side with 19 appearances and three tries throughout the season. A problematic toe injury overshadowed the end of that campaign, but Skivington didn't let this affect his game and made his way back into the 1XV in 2006/07 making 16 appearances, as well as being a regular face in the A side, taking Wasps all the way to the final, but missing out on the clash with Leicester, due to injury.
2007/08 also proved a successful season for George, particularly after scoring a crucial try against Munster in Wasps' opening Heineken Cup match. He picked up two further tries and a Man of the Match Award, in the ensuing pool games. His efforts with Wasps did not go unnoticed with England, and he was called up to the 2008 Saxons squad.
He continued to develop in 2008/9, when he was named as captain of the Saxons team, in a game against Ireland A which was called off shortly before kick-off. During the season, he also passed the milestone of 100 first team games for Wasps, and his current tally stands at 107.
