Tipped by many to succeed Lawrence Dallaglio as the next captain of Wasps, Hart showed why he commands the respect of his team-mates with an outstanding performance in the back row at Twickenham last May, that helped Wasps to their third successive Premiership title. Not often in the headlines, he is a back row grafter and a hidden gem in the Wasps squad.
Harty was named by Director of Rugby Ian McGeechan as 1XV Captain for the start of the 2005-6 season in the absence of injured club captain, Lawrence Dallaglio, and with the blind-side flanker at the helm, the team made the best start to a season for 10 years. In addition, the back row man scored his first 1XV try, against Leeds Tykes, in September 2005.
