Wasps at the Sport Relief Games

Come and join Wasps this weekend at the magnificent Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park for the Sport Relief Games!

Yesterday kicked off the start of an exciting Sport Relief week! There are lots of activities and events going on over the next few days until the showpiece event, the Sainsbury's Sport Relief Games at the Olympic Park, where the public can choose to run, swim or cycle for the charity.

This year’s Sport Relief is more ambitious than ever as, for the first time, the public can make every mile count by choosing to run, swim or cycle at the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Games across one weekend from 21st – 23rd March 2014.

Wasps will be showcasing rugby at the event on Sunday 23rd March in the event village. The Wasps community team will be running skills stations for members of the public with the assistance of a number of Wasps players, including Joe Launchbury, Joe Simpson, Elliot Daly, Sam Jones and Tom Palmer. The stations will focus on tackling, passing, handling, kicking and footwork, so come and give it a go!

James Haskell will also be taking part in the Sport Relief mile at 13:23 so make sure you come down and show your support!

If you can’t make it down, you can show your support for the boys and for Sport Relief by donating online at http://my.sportrelief.com/corporate/londonwasps.

On Sunday 23rd March BBC One will host the Sport Relief Games Show, with Alex Jones and Matt Baker, live from Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. The show will bring all the highlights as the great British public are joined by numerous famous faces as they make every mile count by taking part on foot, a bike or in the water throughout the day, including Denise van Outen, Ricky Hatton, Danielle O’Hara, Ben Fogle, Gaby Roslin and of course some of the players from Wasps.

There are accessible and challenging events for everyone to sign-up and get involved at www.sportrelief.com.

So why not come down to see us on the day and while you're at it run a mile and raise loads for Sport Relief? You can sign up right until the last minute so make sure to select Wasps as we are one of the official partners for Sport Relief. You can do so by visiting this link.

If you can’t make the games you can still support Sport Relief by purchasing a ticket for The Stinger at Twickenham Stadium on the 19th April where £1 from every ticket sold will be donated to the charity. For more information on The Stinger visit wasps.co.uk and to purchase tickets click here.
