Cycle to Paris with London Wasps!

There is still time to sign up and bag yourself a place on next April's London to Paris cycling challenge, through Club charity partners Mind.

There has been a great response since the latest fundraising opportunity for Club charity Mind was announced, but there is still time to sign up and get involved!

Former Wasps players Nic Berry, John Hart and Ali Mackenzie are already signed up for the ride and plenty more Wasps faces will also take part in this ultimate three day European challenge. This will be a team endeavour like nothing else and will be a fantastic chance to experience the brilliant camaraderie and spirit within the Wasps community.

Recent Wasps retiree Nic Berry said: “I ran the London Marathon for Mind this year and it was great to be part of a team of dedicated fundraisers going the extra mile for charity. I was so inspired that I decided to sign up for this new London to Paris cycle, to raise even more awareness and funds for people affected by mental health problems. This is a great challenge for a great cause and I hope to see lots of Wasps fans get involved!”

Wasps partners Kukri are also supporting the event along with Maximuscle who will be supplying a selection of products to help the riders through the challenge.

Paul Farmer, Chief Executive of Mind, said: “We want to say a huge thank you to London Wasps for launching this brand new fundraising event as part of our charity partnership. It’s not everyday that people are given the chance to ride alongside their favourite Wasps rugby heroes!

“Every pound raised through events like these will help Mind to provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem, and campaign to improve services and promote understanding. We want to encourage fearless fundraisers across the UK to join Wasps and team Mind and take on the challenge.”

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and suitable for anyone - whatever your cycling experience!

The cycle takes place from April 11 to April 15 2014 and registrations are now open! It costs £99 to register for the event, while the minimum fundraising requirement is £1,000 per cyclist.
