London Wasps U18 side to play Saracens

The London Wasps U18 Academy game against Saracens is taking place at Maidenhead RFC today (Saturday 19th) at 17.30.

The game on the 4G pitch has been confirmed this morning but those travelling to the game are urged to drive with caution, particularly when driving into the ground.

Wasps have won their opening two games in the competition, with wins over London Irish and Bath and will be looking to add another victory against their Saracens counterparts this weekend.

Ahead of the game Academy Coach Chris Lloyd said:

“We go into the game confident after good performances in the last couple of games but we are very aware that Saracens pose significant challenge. The lads deserve great credit because as players and as a squad they have improved in each training session and game. They have shown increasing quality in their decision making and as a result they are performing well under pressure.”

“Saracens play to pressure you in certain areas considerably more so than most teams so this is a great fixture to test out our lads. We make the players aware that their development is the main aim of being in the Academy but they know only too well that this is a local derby. They know the history of our club and that its success over a long period has been built on the foundations of competitive spirit and camaraderie; this group of players have shown time and again that they are proud to play for the club and in reality we can ask no more than that from them.”
