Horsham RUFC Minis Tour to Marlow RUFC

Read about the West Sussex-based club's visit to Marlow RUFC and London Wasps

On Sunday 6th January our Community Team joined forces with Community Partner Club Marlow RUFC to welcome Horsham RUFC U7s and U8s to Buckinghamshire as part of a mini rugby tour. Horsham RUFC were due to play during the half time of our fixture v Bath Rugby, however our Match Day Tag Rugby Challenge has been postponed until February at the request of the ground staff at Adams Park Stadium.

Whilst at Marlow RUFC, Community Rugby Coaches Ben Smiley, Nathaniel Greathead and Sam Verralls coached the Horsham RUFC and Marlow RUFC U6s, U7s and U8s groups. Later in the morning, our Character Mascot Sting flew into the Thames-side club to meet and greet all of the players and their families before they headed down the road to Adams Park Stadium.

When at our ground, each team were invited to have a team photograph with London Wasps full back Jack Wallace and Sting.

Ben Smiley told "We are always made to feel very welcome at Marlow RUFC. All of the age groups welcomed our coaches and gave them them free reign to lead the coaching sessions. Sting was, as ever, a massive hit and joined in with a game of Bulldog with the Under 6s and 7s!"

We would like to thank Marlow RUFC for hosting Horsham RUFC and providing such a fantastic mini-tour experience for everyone involved.

Sting loves getting out in to our community and saying "hello" to everyone. If you would like Sting to support your event, please complete an enquiry form here.
