U18s take on Bath this weekend

London Wasps U18s play their second game of the new Academy U18 League this Saturday when they take on Bath U18s.

Having beaten London Irish 21-17 in the opening game of the new competition last weekend, London Wasps will host Bath this weekend at Maidenhead RFC, kick off 5pm.

Ahead of the game, Academy Coach Chris Lloyd said, “We are really looking forward to the fixture with Bath, we know from previous academy age group tournaments over the years that they really play good rugby so it is just the sort of test the lads will learn a great deal from.

"The game against London Irish has given us a great deal to reflect upon both positively and also in highlighting areas we know we can improve on so it will be good to see how the lessons have been learnt and how the lads can turn that into better performance on the pitch."

"This game sees a couple of extra lads with England U18 experience that weren’t available v Irish come into the match day 23 so the fight for squad places is becoming more competitive. This is again something new for players to learn from as most are used to being first choice for the teams they play for and on the whole they have responded very maturely to that new experience for them."

"All players have commented on the pride they felt playing for the club and that they really felt lifted by the Wasps support from those that made the trip to Maidenhead so we will be looking forward to more of the same this Saturday; what better way to prepare for the big game on Sunday than by watching the next generation of Wasps and Bath players fight over the honours the evening before!”
