This half-term, we have been delivering elements of the Aviva Premiership Rugby Schools Programme in the Aylesbury, Oxfordshire and South Bucks area, as a part of the London Wasps Community Schools Programme.
During November and December, we have delivered the Aviva Premiership Rugby Schools Programme in the following schools;
After the completion of Phase 2 of the Aviva Premiership Rugby Schools Programme, our Community Rugby Coach Ben Smiley told wasps.co.uk: "Despite some cold weather in November, the children have all been fantastic and fully committed to developing their Tag Rugby skills with the London Wasps Coaches. Many of the children will be joining us in January for our fixture with Mogliano; this really helps to develop both their understanding of rugby and support for London Wasps."
After receiving the Aviva Premiership Rugby Schools Programme in her school, sports co-ordiantor at Stoke Mandeville Combined School Cathy Smith told wasps.co.uk: "The coaches were very supportive and encouraging to all of our children. One child in particular who suffers from acute shyness and a lack of confidence went from not wanting to even go outside to volunteering for the skill demosntrations by the end of the programme."
Our Community Schools Programme has spaces throughout this academic year. If you would like your school to get involved, please contact us by filling in your details here.
