Windsor RFC score against Aylesbury RFC
Our Match Day Tag Rugby Challenge v Leicester Tigers on Sunday 25th November was jam-packed with young players from 4 of our Community Partner Clubs.
For this high-profile Aviva Premiership fixture we welcomed teams from Aylesbury RFC, High Wycombe RUFC, Marlow RUFC and Windsor RFC to showcase Tag Rugby and the new "Shaping the Game" law changes for Tag Rugby.
What is Tag Rugby?
Tag Rugby is a game played by teams of up to seven players. Each player wears a belt that has two velcro tags attached to it. The defenders have to pull one of the velcro tags from the ball-carrying attacking player, to force the player to pass the ball. The game is fast and exciting and develops the players’ agility, balance & coordination while focusing on the FUNdamental core skills of non-contact rugby.

Following the Tag Challenge, Community Rugby Coach Ben Smiley told wasps.co.uk: "We had a range of Community Partner Clubs and their age-groups showcasing their skills at this weekend's Match Day Tag Rugby Challenge. It is fantastic to see so many young rugby players getting the opportunity to play at half-time, on the same pitch that some of the heroes have played on. Hopefully these experiences will help to motivate the players to aim as high as possible in their rugby playing careers. Well done to everyone involved."
