Wasps had led for large parts of the game but were undone by an excellent defensive effort by the home side, and a lacklustre second half.
“I thought they looked like a team who wanted it far more and they deserved it. The best team won. We didn’t play anything like we could tonight and they were far more desperate than us to win it which is very disappointing. We could have won but it was a game we shouldn’t have.”
“We gave a lot of players tonight a start who haven’t had one and told them to take that opportunity and not many of them took it. We didn’t get a decision late in the game but we can’t complain about it because we didn’t deserve it.”
“We still have plenty for play for in this competition and we’ve got to pick ourselves up now before we host Worcester next weekend. We will have to win that if we want to stay in the competition. We want to start build a winning culture, no matter what tournament it is."
