Crossing The Line

An interactive performance which explores safeguarding issues in a sporting context

The Oxfordshire Sports Partnership and Oxfordshire Safeguarding Children Board have organised a special Safeguarding event for organisations who work with children and young people throughout Oxfordshire.

Wednesday 13th June at Oxford Brookes University, Harcourt Hill Campus, Oxford

• Matinee performance - 3.30pm for sports development professionals and those working in the Safeguarding Children field
• Evening performance - 7pm for welfare officers, club committee members and volunteers, coaches, youth workers, students, teachers and the general public

This is a must-see event for anyone involved in delivering sport for young people. The target audience will include coaches, volunteers, club committee members, welfare officers, youth workers, teachers, those working within Safeguarding and sports development professionals.

Crossing the Line is an interactive performance delivered by the Geese Theatre company. The performance is steered along by the audience who are asked to consider events as they unfold and the impact they have on the young characters who are victims of grooming. Audience interaction and group discussions make this both an engaging and compelling experience, the likes of which you won’t have seen or taken part in before.

The event is based on fictional safeguarding scenarios within sport, although the themes and messages are relevant to any organisation. It’s a highly engaging, thought provoking and powerful performance and a must see for all those working with children and young people.

The Oxfordshire Sports Partnership will be issuing certificates of attendance for all who come.
