Launchbury and Wade make England squad

Christian Wade and Joe Launchbury have been handed call-ups for England’s five-match summer tour to South Africa.

Stuart Lancaster has named the young London Wasps duo in his 42 man squad, capping a remarkable rise for two of the Club’s brightest young talents who last summer were in the England U20s IRB Junior World Cup squad.

Tom Palmer and James Haskell, who will be in Wasps colours next season, are also named in the squad.

Director of Rugby Dai Young congratulated all of the Wasps players included in the squad. “We’re delighted that Christian and Joe have been rewarded for their efforts this year. Although they are both still very young, they have proved their worth throughout the season and they are going to South Africa on merit not on just their potential. We’re looking forward to welcoming these four players back to the Club later this summer.”
