The third and final pre-season fixture is an AXV match against former Wasp Will Green’s Worthing RFC.

Opening their campaign against the 2009 Heineken Cup Champions Leinster, Wasps will travel to Donnybrook to face last season’s Magners League finalists on Friday 20th August, KO 7pm. Having established a rivalry on the European stage over the years, Wasps will be eager to test their 2010/11 squad against a side which boasts some of rugby’s most enviable talent. Games between these two teams have provided fans with some hugely exciting rugby, most notably Wasps’ European quarter final victory at Adams Park in 2007 and the ‘Battle of the Capitals’ clash at Twickenham in 2008 in front of over 33,000 supporters.

Tickets for this fixture are available now via Ticketmaster. Ground tickets are priced at €20 for adults and €10 for children, while unreserved stand tickets are available for €30.

In the second and only home pre-season fixture, Wasps will host Glasgow Warriors at Adams Park on Saturday 28th August, KO 3pm. With an impressive third place finish in the 2009/10 Magners League, Glasgow will provide Wasps and their supporters with a highly competitive game of rugby on home turf. Going head to head in Europe on three previous occasions, and in last year’s pre-season programme where Glasgow took the spoils with a 16-15 victory, the two teams will be eager to set a precedent ahead of this year’s Heineken Cup competition with both Wasps and Glasgow drawn in Pool 6.

Tickets for this game go on sale exclusively to Season Tickets on Monday 5th July and are placed on general sale from Monday 19th July. Supporters can take advantage of a 30% saving on all tickets in all areas of the stadium. To book, Season Ticket Holders simply need to call the London Wasps Ticket Office on 0844 225 2990 from 9am on Monday 5th July to purchase their ticket and any additional tickets for friends and family. The final pre-season fixture sees a run out for Wasps A team, facing Worthing RFC on the South Coast on Sunday 29th August, KO 2.30pm. National Divisional Two side Worthing, led by Head Coach Will Green, have strong links to Wasps as a Community Partner Club and this season have provided second row Joe Launchbury to the Wasps cause as he joins the senior Academy full time. Tickets for this game will be available at £5 with bouncy castles, kids entertainment, live music from Splash FM, BBQ and a Heineken Village as part of a Bank Holiday Weekend Family Festival. Speaking on the pre-season fixture announcement, Director of Rugby Tony Hanks said, “We are really looking forward to the pre-season fixtures and we are pleased to have such high quality opposition as part of this programme. A first hit out against Leinster is a great opportunity to get the squad fired up and back out on a rugby pitch, allowing us to really test the hard work that is going into pre-season at the moment.

“Glasgow proved tough opponents in last year’s pre-season clash and I think that game was the most beneficial to us in terms of preparation for the season. Similarly to Leinster, they enjoyed a very strong season in the Magners League and we hope our supporters will get back to Adams Park for this game and enjoy some highly competitive rugby – facing Glasgow in the Heineken Cup this year will also add another dimension to this game.

“To have the third fixture in there against Worthing means we can ensure everyone gets game time and we thank Will Green and his team at Worthing for allowing us the opportunity to ensure our young players get quality rugby under their belts ahead of the 2010/11 season.”
