London Wasps have today confirmed two further additions to their squad ahead of the new season, signing fly half/full back Eoghan Hickey and tight head prop Ben Broster on one year deals.

Hickey, 27, joins Wasps from London Irish where after two seasons he collected 107 points and made 25 appearances. Hickey has represented Ireland at schoolboy, U21 and A levels and lists Munster, Leinster and University College Dublin amongst his former clubs.
Prop Broster, is no stranger to the Premiership after a seven year career with Saracens and stints with Northampton Saints and London Irish as well as Llanelli Scarlets. A capped Welsh international, 27 year old Broster made his debut on the tour of North America in 2005 and scored his first try a week later in the Test against Canada. He also holds honours at U18, U19 and U21 level.

On the new signings Director of Rugby, Tony Hanks, said; "Joining us in Poland on trial both Eoghan and Ben have really impressed, not only in terms of their playing quality but also in terms of their attitude and ability to fit into the squad very quickly, resulting in them both being offered full time contracts.

"Eoghan gives us depth at fly half which is important in the Guinness Premiership and will add competition for Danny (Cipriani) and Dave (Walder) at 10. He brings a strong kicking game to the team and he has a wealth of experience having played with Ireland A as well as plenty of rugby at Premiership level. He is a quality fly half but he also has the ability to play full back which, along with his strong kicking game, is something that could be really valuable to us this year especially with the importance that kicking is playing in the modern game.

"Having played international rugby as a young promising prop with Wales, Ben is looking for the chance to really establish himself at Premiership level - of which he has a great wealth of experience. We feel it is important to have depth especially at tight head and he brings that depth and quality to the existing group and I’m sure he will flourish under the coaching of Trevor Woodman."
