Sports Leaders take a water break
On Thursday 26th and Friday 27th June we were pleased to help the Furze Platt Senior School, School Olympics. The Community Team had been contacted by Fran Hodge, SSCo at the Maidenhead-based school to try to get some water for the event, which is an inclusive sports event for every pupil in the Furze Platt cluster of schools; namely, Furze Platt Junior, Furze Platt Infants, Alwyn, Courthouse and Maidenhead Nursey.

The Olympics as it has come to be known, was held on the Furze Platt Senior School field during school time, with over 1,200 pupils from the age of 4 to 11 participating. The organisers were the Furze Platt year 10 SLA students (Sports Leaders Award). To assist this great event, London Wasps were pleased to work with the Highland Spring Commercial Department to arrange for 1,200 bottles of water to be sent to the school, to help keep the children hydrated throughout the 2 days.
After the event, Fran Hodge told wasps.co.uk, "The event went really well. We were really lucky with the weather and although it did rain a bit on the Friday, it wasn't enoguh to put the children off. All of the water was drunk, and we would like to say a huge "thank you" to London Wasps and Highland Spring for their support of the Furze Platt Senior School Olympics."
