Chance to meet Wasps players when 150th anniversary shirt hits Club Shop - 23 August, Ricoh Arena

Wasps fans will have the chance to meet some of the first-team squad in Wasps Club Shop at the Ricoh Arena, on Wednesday 23rd August, when the club’s 150th anniversary shirt goes on sale.

Tommy Taylor, Kyle Eastmond and Sam Jones will be meeting fans and signing autographs in the club shop between 4.30pm and 6.30pm on Wednesday, 23rd August, before Wasps’ pre-season clash against Connacht that same evening (7.30pm kick-off).

Fans will be able to get their hands on the special Under Armour jersey for the first time from 9am on match day.

Nick Eastwood, Wasps CEO, is one of the few to have already caught a glimpse of the new shirt.

He said: “The players had tremendous support at the Ricoh Arena last season with almost 300,000 people coming through the turnstiles, and this season’s shirt launch felt like a good opportunity for the players to show their appreciation.

“Shirt launches are one of the most eagerly-anticipated dates in every fan’s diary, none more so than this year when we celebrate our 150th anniversary.

“Without giving too much away, the Under Armour kit is unique in look and style and pays homage to the club’s heritage. Fans will be able to get their first glimpse of the 2017/18 shirt online and on social media on Tuesday 22nd August, before it physically goes on sale the following morning ahead of our pre-season friendly against Connacht.

“We’re expecting the club shop to be buzzing throughout the day with fans keen to get their hands on the replica kit, particularly when the players arrive, so we’d urge fans to arrive early to ensure they have time to chat with the players.

“The Connacht game is the final run out ahead of the Aviva Premiership match against Sale Sharks on 2nd September at the Ricoh Arena, so this is a great chance to get behind the team and help them to hit the ground running.”

Club mascot Sting will also be on hand throughout the day to greet supporters in the club shop, while fans can also put their rugby skills to the test in the Wasps Interactive Zone which will be running between midday and 7pm.

Tickets for Wasps v Connacht can be purchased from wasps.co.uk/tickets and start from £12 for adults, while under-10s go free in certain categories. This pre-season fixture is already part of Season Members’ packages. Paper tickets will be issued for this game.
