Wasps A side to face Newcastle

Wasps have named their A team side to travel to Newcastle Falcons this evening for the 7.30pm kick off at Kingston Park.

Wasps A’s bonus point win against Worcester Cavaliers last time out gave the squad an outside chance of making the A League play-offs, requiring other results to also go their way, but they will face the sternest of tests against a Newcastle side who know a win would secure them a semi-final position.

Wasps A will again be captained by Craig Hampson. The backline remains unchanged from the side that won at Sixways on Monday 3rd April.

Up front, Carlo Festuccia lines up at hooker, Tom Heard, from Nottingham, starts at tighthead and Alex Rieder packs down at no.8, in place of Tom Cruse, Phil Swainston and Guy Thompson, who all played for the first team in Wasps last-gasp win over Northampton Saints on Sunday.

Newcastle have named some experienced players in their side, including Nili Latu, Opeti Fonua and Wasps signing for next season Ben Harris.

Entry at Kingston Park is free of charge.
