Bentornato Carlo!

Wasps are delighted to welcome back Carlo Festuccia to the Ricoh Arena, the popular hooker having joined this weekend’s opponents Zebre Rugby during the close season.

One thing that is missing from the Wasps training ground this season, is the buzz of a Vespa scooter or three, making their way into the car park.

The combative Italian hooker went home to his native Italy during the summer with wife Barbara and daughter Carlotta and rejoined Zebre, from where he joined Wasps in 2013.

Carlo has 54 Italian caps to his name, and has played over 60 times for Wasps in his three-year tenure in the front row.

He gladly gave of his time this week to tell us how much he is looking forward to returning to the Ricoh Arena to lock horns with a few of his many good friends.

“I’m really looking forward to coming back! I’m still in contact with the boys, we talk every couple of weeks,” says the 36-year-old.

“They are having a great start to the season - now they need to carry it on! I am looking forward to playing them. Everyone seems to be on the same page and I imagine they must be really happy.”

Carlo says he can’t wait to come back to play, and see his friends at Wasps.
