Every fan bring a can on December 27th

In support of Coventry Open Christmas, Wasps Academy are backing ‘every fan to bring a can’ to the next Wasps home game against Saracens.

Those attending the Premiership clash against Saracens on Sunday December 27th are encouraged to bring any non-perishable food they can to support the charity shelter, which is a voluntary organisation managed by the "Grub & Gab" club. The shelter provides food to the homeless and lonely over the Christmas holiday, and based at Queens Road Baptist Church.

Items such as Coffee and tea, squash and cakes, biscuits and sweets, tinned fruit and veg, along with beans, spaghetti, breakfast cereal and chocolate will all go a long way to provide food for those in need over the festive period and beyond.

Wasps Academy Manager, Matt Davies said “This is a fantastic project, and really helps people in need over the Christmas and New Year period, as well as providing assistance throughout the year.

"As an Academy group we are aiming to help support the shelter, and with the help of the fantastic Wasps fans, we feel we can do our part this Christmas and New Year. Thousands of Wasps fans, by giving small, everyday items to the collection on the 27th, can make a colossal difference to our own Community here in Coventry."

The Wasps Academy players and staff will be positioned around the Ricoh Arena for fans to pass on non-perishable foods at the game. Please give generously to a great cause.
