Wasps Academy's 'Battle of the Brands’ is underway
The project is an apprentice style challenge with the Senior Academy players managing the "Brand" of Wasps players Elliot Daly, Christian Wade, Joe Launchbury and James Haskell.
Each group will auction a unique event/experience which has been designed along with the Brand Player in the hope of raising the most money for the Brain Tumour Charity. The Brand Company which raises the least amount of money will have to perform a forfeit whilst the winning group will be treated to a day out.
First up is Brand Daly managed by U20's World Cup Winner Alex Lundberg. They have come up with a fantastic experience which they are confident will be too strong for the other groups. As Alex points out, "Elliot is very competitive and has come up with a great evening for any rugby fan with the added bonus of amazing cuisine. We are leaving nothing to chance and will push the rules as far as possible in order to win. Which is why we have recruited food connoisseur Andy Goode to the team to offer his undoubted experience in this area".
Brand Daly are excited to be auctioning off a dining experience for 8 people at Gauchos with Elliot Daly and Andy Goode.
The Argentinian restaurant is London's premier steak house and pride themselves on the quality and authenticity of their food. The event will take place on a mutually agreed evening that will take into account the schedules of Elliot and Andy.
With such an exciting offering Elliot Daly said that he has every faith in his team to do well in the competition, "The money is going to a really good cause so we're all very keen to do as well as we can and everyone's excited by the competitive nature of it. We’re the underdogs as the other teams have some of the much higher profile first team players but I've got a lot of faith in the team and the product we have. Hopefully we do well and manage to raise a lot of money in the process."
All money raised by this will go to Wasps Academy's chosen charity, the Brain Tumour Charity. This campaign strikes a particular chord with academy players and staff as one of the senior academy members (Harry Sheppard) overcame a brain tumour at age of 15.
