Bell looking to gain momentum

We caught up with Chris Bell this week as the side prepare for The Stinger on Saturday.

London Wasps take on Gloucester this Saturday in The Stinger at Twickenham. With the recent announcement of a 7th place playoff for qualification for the new European competition, the game has taken on even more importance and Chris Bell says that a win at the home of English rugby could give his side the boost they need heading into the business end of the season.

‘‘At this stage of the season you want to try and gain momentum for every game you play, we had a good win against Gloucester to progress in the Amlin Challenge Cup, but a disappointing result against Leicester, however showing some good elements of play. We’re really focused on this game as The Stinger has been on the calendar for a long time so we’re all really looking forward to it.’’

‘’Everybody is going to raise their own performance for the occasion as it’s not very often you get to play at Twickenham. We really want to play in the European Rugby Champions Cup next year so we now realise how important it is to achieve 7th place.’’

With nearly 35,000 tickets already sold for the game, Bell says that he and his teammates want, more than ever, to put on a show.

‘’For all the supporters who makes the effort to come down and watch we hope we can put on a good performance and it would be great if everyone was as loud as possible to be our 16th man and cheer the team on in everything we do.’’
