30,000 tickets sold for The Stinger

We are delighted to announce that we have sold 30,000 tickets for The Stinger on Easter Saturday 19 April at Twickenham Stadium.

Having booked a place in the Amlin Challenge Cup Semi Final, London Wasps turn their attention back to the Aviva Premiership and have today announced that ticket sales for ‘The Stinger’ have passed 30,000.

London Wasps head to Twickenham Stadium on Saturday April 19, where Gloucester Rugby will again provide the opposition for what could be a crucial fixture as both sides fight to secure a possible European 7th place play-off spot.

A packed schedule of activity has been planned for families to enjoy at the Easter Saturday clash, with an entertainment line-up headlined by X-Factor winners Little Mix and featuring tribute band Killer Queen, the Pro Excel Dance Troupe, children’s circus acts and an activities area in Twickenham’s West Car Park.

On the pitch, the sides met most recently on Sunday night in an Amlin Challenge Cup Quarter Final where tries from Carlo Festuccia, Matt Mullan and Will Helu, plus 21 points from the boot of Andy Goode, gave Wasps a commanding 36-24 victory.

With that result fresh in their minds, Gloucester Rugby will be out to spoil Wasps’ party at Twickenham.

Speaking on reaching the 30,000 mark, London Wasps COO Jeremy Wilton commented: “With The Stinger still two weeks away, it is tremendous to see ticket sales have passed 30,000. The vocal support given by our fans on Sunday night against Gloucester was incredible and really boosted our players.

“Playing this fixture at Twickenham is a statement of intent by the Club to compete on the big stage again. We are in a building phase at London Wasps and will look to grow our audience over the next few years. The Stinger is about delivering a great day out that caters for the cross section of fans who will be attending.

“It will be a fantastic occasion for the squad to play in front of an enthusiastic Twickenham crowd and hopefully it will give the boys the extra edge to produce another winning performance in what could be a pivotal game in our season.”

Tickets for the Stinger start at just £10 with £1 from every ticket sold going to Sport Relief.
