Italian takeover in Oxford

There was a distinctly Italian feel at the home of Oxford Harlequins on Sunday 4th May, as Wasps' Italian duo Carlo Festuccia and Andrea Masi visited the Club's Mini and Junior awards day.

During their visit, Andrea and Carlo presented prizes and medals to the Mini and Junior rugby players, signed autographs and posed for photos, as well as speaking with the coaches and parents about their involvement in Wasps' bonus-point victory over Newcastle Falcons the day before.

With teams entering Wasps' Land Rover Premiership Cup, BRITA Cup, Stinger Tag Rugby Cup and Matchday Tag Rugby Challenge, Oxford Harlequins have been fantastic supporters of Wasps this season, and we were delighted to be able to support their end of season awards by organising for Andrea and Carlo to attend. As one of Wasps Community Partner Clubs, Oxford Harlequins have also hosted Coachclass events, and an Aviva Premiership Rugby Schools Programme Teacher Education workshop, which has helped the Club to raise their profile within the Oxford rugby community.

After hosting Andrea and Carlo, Oxford Quins Mini and Juniors Secretary Stuart Wells emailed to say; "Thanks for sending Carlo & Andrea down yesterday, after the game yesterday I thought they'd be too sore to travel, but I was chuffed to bits when we saw them walking in the car park."

Wasps would like to thank Oxford Harlequins, their players, families and supporters for all of the support of the team and our Community Programmes throughout the season, and we look forward to working with the Club again next season.
