Wasps support the Buckinghamshire Schools Festivals

On Monday 31st March and Thursday 3rd April, members of the Wasps Community Team supported the respective Year 7 and Year 8 Buckinghamshire Schools Festivals, hosted at Community Parter Club, and home of the Wasps Community Team, Aylesbury RFC.

Run by Wasps' RFU partners in Buckinghamshire, each day saw over 150 young rugby players travel from all around the county to represent their schools, in a round-robin tournament, which preceded the semi-final, and final rounds.

Wasps' Community Rugby Coach Ian Isham, Coachclass Programme Officer Ryan Hunt and Schools Programme Officer Ben Smiley supported the festivals by supporting the refereeing efforts of the RFU staff, and volunteers from Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.

The Community Team were also delighted to provide prizes for both festivals.

After the Buckinghamshire Schools Festivals, RFU Community Rugby Coach for Buckinghamshire Bob Hardman emailed to say: "As always a massive thanks for your help today. The feedback from schools is brilliant, and we honestly could not run it without you & really appreciate the help given."

Wasps' support of the Buckinghamshire School Festivals forms a part of the Club's commitment to rugby development within their Community. To invite Wasps to your School, Club or Charity event, please contact us by filling in the details here.
