Wasps players feature in Little Mix Sport Relief charity single!

Members of the Wasps squad feature in Little Mix’s new music video for their Sport Relief single, ‘Word Up’.

Wasps players Christian Wade, James Haskell, Will Helu and Will Taylor joined Little Mix in grabbing their gym kit – alongside a host of famous faces from the world of sport and showbiz - in the much-anticipated music video for the official Sport Relief single, Word Up.

The video sees the girl band wreaking havoc across a gym, with Leigh-Anne putting the Wasps rugby team through their paces with James Haskell bench pressing Leigh-Ann – much to the annoyance of the pedantic gym manager, played by Chris Barrie as Mr Brittas.

The single, a cover of the 1986 smash hit by Cameo, is available to pre-order now and will be available to download from 16th March, with the CD available to buy exclusively in Sainsbury’s from 17th March. To pre-order the charity single click here.

Wasps player Christian Wade said, “We were delighted to support Little Mix and Sport Relief with the charity single, it was great fun and all the boys loved it! Make sure to pre order on iTunes today!”

Talking behind the scenes at the video shoot Jesy Nelson said, “It’s been absolutely amazing, we’ve met some really cool people today. We feel so privileged that we’ve been able to have fun and make this amazing video and raise money at the same time.”

With less than eight weeks to go until The Stinger at Twickenham Stadium, the Wasps are extremely excited that Little Mix will be the headline act in the pre-match show. The girls will be performing a taster of their forthcoming arena tour. The UK’s freshest and most exciting girl band of the moment will be taking to the pitch to perform at the Aviva Premiership showdown, which will see Wasps face Gloucester Rugby on April 19th at the iconic home of English rugby. Tickets can be purchased via ticketmaster.co.uk.

Sport Relief takes place from Friday 21st to Sunday 23rd March and for the first time ever the public can run, swim or cycle in the brand new Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Games. For more information on how to join in the fun and games, raise cash and changes lives go to sportrelief.com.
