DS Smith, who employ over 20,000 people in 25 countries, have signed a long-term partnership with the Club and the company’s branding will appear on the back of all Wasps playing shirts, beginning later this month in the Aviva Premiership clash against Newcastle Falcons.
As part of the partnership, DS Smith will also work with the Wasps Community team to roll-out a new project together called ‘Move 2 Improve’ - a physical literacy programme designed to improve the movement skills of children including those with special educational needs. The programme will involve members of the Wasps Community team visiting schools to deliver curriculum-based and out-of-school-hours physical literacy lessons and tag rugby.
Wasps CEO Nick Eastwood said: “This is a fantastic partnership for Wasps and we’re delighted to bring DS Smith on board immediately. DS Smith is a market leader with clear aspirations for continued strong growth and we look forward to them sharing in our own growth and achievements both on and off the pitch. We are all very excited to be working with DS Smith to help them achieve their ambitions within rugby and Wasps are proud to have been entrusted by DS Smith to represent their company.”
DS Smith CEO Miles Roberts said: “We are very pleased to announce this partnership and look forward to DS Smith and Wasps supporting each other in our independent endeavours whilst combining our efforts and ideas in support of the new community project. We are also enthusiastic about sharing in the success of Wasps through the rest of the season and in the coming years.”
