On Friday 22nd November London Wasps Community Rugby Coach Ian Isham visited Chilworth House School in Thame, Oxfordshire.
Chilworth House is a co-educational, independent special day school. The school specialises in the development of social and emotional skills for children with Special Educational Needs.
As a part of the school's policy for encouraging and rewarding positive behaviour, rewards are offered on a weekly basis.
London Wasps' visit to Chilworth House School formed a part of their reward programme, and Ian delivered a rugby training session that focused on their handling skills and putting them under pressure using small sided games. The children then got the chance to show their contact skills in a tackling practice.
After the session, Chilworth House School teacher Craig Smith told wasps.co.uk: “The session went really well, the kids responded really well to Wasps coming in. The coaching session was an active and fun way for the kids to be rewarded and we hope to get wasps back in the future”
