Wasps side to face Viadana

Dai Young has made a number of changes to his starting side for this season's first European outing against Viadana in the Amlin Challenge Cup on Saturday.

After five tough weeks of Premiership action, and with a five day turnaround before the team plays again, Young has rotated a squad which will hope to kick start their Cup campaign positively in Italy.

Tongan international Will Helu makes his first competitive start on the wing for London Wasps, since arriving in recent months, while Tommy Bell starts at fullback. Ben Jacobs completes the centre partnership alongside Captain Chris Bell and Joe Simpson returns to the fold after missing out in recent weeks through injury.

James Cannon replaces Joe Launchbury for this fixture to accompany Kearnan Myall in the second row while a completely changed front row will see Simon McIntyre and Will Taylor flank Tom Lindsay at hooker.

On the bench a number of players will be hoping to make their first competitive appearances for Wasps with Taione Vea, Ricky Reeves, Esteban Lozada and Jack Moates all named.

Young said: "We know what we get when we go to Italy - it's always a really physical battle up front and we expect no different on Saturday. It is important for us to go there and secure a positive win, though we know that is no given. We've got a pretty short turnaround before we face Bayonne next Thursday but I am really confident in the squad that is travelling this weekend that they can go out there and secure that result for us."
