Wasps Legends Chairman, Paul Clements, said: “Wasps Legends have been touring and running family fun days for the last seven years and this year we decided to have a more formal way for our past players to stay involved and support good causes at the same time. Our chosen charity this year is Starlight and we are very pleased to announce that we have raised over £30,000. This money is being put towards 3 Starlight Fun Centres, which are mobile entertainment units, at Milton Keynes Hospital and 4 at Stoke Mandeville as well as helping the charity to grant the dearest wishes of two very poorly children to go Disneyland and Florida.”
Wasps Legends Trustee, Peter Scrivener, added: “We launched the official Wasps Legends Charitable Foundation in November 2012 with the sole aim to raise funds for a chosen charity, which is at the heart of the Wasps Legends teams. This is a great achievement and we are very proud and excited to be entertaining Starlight at the Saracens v London Wasps game at the Allianz Park on 5th October to present them with their cheque, alongside some of the past Wasps players, including Andy Gomarsall, Damian Cronin, Will Green, Paul Volley and Fraser Waters.”
Entrance to the Legends game is free if you have a ticket to the Aviva Premiership game which takes place at 15.00.
