The nationwide company, whose head office resides in Manchester, provide business rates advice to businesses across the UK. Mark Rigby, Chief Executive of CVS, and Chairman of London Wasps is taking just over 80 employees from the Manchester office to support London Wasps when they meet Sale Sharks for the first time in this year’s Aviva Premiership Rugby season.
Commenting on the match, Mark Rigby said: “I’m delighted to be able to take so many of our team to support London Wasps. It will be great for our staff to experience a match as Main Sponsor supporters. Away games are notoriously more difficult to win, and the stadium atmosphere can play a big part in that. I’m sure the CVS team will make London Wasps feel at home.”
This season is a fresh start for Wasps and also marks an exciting time for CVS as their growth continues to create jobs in the North West, including the opening of a graduate training centre for future Rating Surveyors in Old Trafford, named The Centre of Rating Excellence.
London Wasps will be pushing hard for victory, and are determined to finish in the top six this season. Nick Eastwood, Chief Executive of London Wasps commented on the match ahead. “We’re very much looking forward to our trip to Manchester this weekend and visiting the AJ Bell Stadium. We played there for the first time last season and lost by the narrowest of margins so we’re looking for a positive result on Friday night. We always get a warm welcome at Sale Sharks and it should be a great evening for any of our supporters making the trip.”
Rigby believes that sponsoring London Wasps is a watershed moment for CVS. He added: “London Wasps’ competitiveness and desire to win is a perfect reflection of our own brand values. I am genuinely excited about the future of London Wasps with new owner Derek Richardson and a talented team of players under the guidance of Dai Young. We are proud at CVS to sponsor London Wasps and are looking forward to a great season.
“I’m hoping for a London Wasps victory and I know the CVS team are with me, although they might see a different side to me come match day, something that isn’t often displayed when challenging business rates!”
