Awards night a huge success

More than 350 people let their hair down at the London Wasps end of season awards dinner last night at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London.

Hosted by Mark Durden-Smith the night was a chance to reflect on the season just passed as well to thank players, staff, sponsors and supporters for all of their efforts over the past year.

Christian Wade and Tom Varndell scooped the two top awards on the night with Wade winning the Prestigious Players’ Player of the Season award and Varndell voted as the Supporters Player of the Season.

Elliot Daly was awarded the try of the season for his magnificent finish against Northampton while Tinus Du Plessis picked up the Community Player of the Season.

Some of the Club’s rising stars were also recognised with Alex Harrison winning the Apprentice of the Season, Nathan Morris the Academy Player of the Season and Elliot Daly added a second award in winning the Young Player of the Season.

The night was also a chance to say goodbye and thank you to a number of players moving on at the end of the season with retirees Richard Birkett and Nic Berry also presented special Wasps caps to mark their time at the Club.
