“Our defence was a major step up from the last game and that is something to take from today but we have to look at why we were defending for such large periods. We weren’t good enough in our accuracy in attack and we are disappointed in that. The two times we kept hold of the ball like we should, we scored two good tries.
“Eighth is the type of position we talked about getting at the start of the season. It is a major step forward and we are developing, but we have a lot of work to do. We have been disappointed to finish on a bit of a whimper and with the losses we have given where we were a few months ago but where we’ve ended is probably a fair reflection on where we are right now.
“Our goal was to get to the last month to make sure we weren’t looking over our shoulder and to improve on last season, but I know that doesn’t take away the disappointment of the last few games. We know that you are not going to make a gigantic stride on one season but we have made a step forward and we need to make another step forward and target top six next year.”
"I want to say as well as huge thanks to the Wasps fans this year. The support at home in particular has been superb and has been a huge boost for the players and we've had plenty of noise on the road too. I always feel personally well supported here which is something me and my family are always very grateful for."
