London Wasps go baking

This week London Wasps went baking at Sainsbury's for Red Nose Day, with proceeds going to Comic Relief and RestartRugby.

London Wasps players Chris Bell, Tom Varndell and Christian Wade joined forces with Ollie Kohn, Charlie Matthews, Will Skinner and Rob Buchanan from Harlequins at Sainsbury’s Headquarters in London on Wednesday to help raise money for Comic Relief and Restart Rugby.

The two teams battled it out in the kitchens, baking and icing a huge number of cupcakes as well as their own attempts at a sponge cake, which were then judged by a panel made up of Baking Mad Ambassador Eric Lanlard and Sainsbury’s Director of Brand Judith Batchelar.

Both teams then took to the streets to sell their creations, with all the proceeds going to the designated charities.

The British public can also get involved by organising their own bake-off, with a small entry fee for budding chefs, before selling off the delicious delights created. A range of great recipes can be found at www.rednoseday.com/bake.
