On Sunday 10th March our Community Team will be visiting no less than four grassroots rugby events in Buckinghamshire, Hampshire and Middlesex.
Community Rugby Coach Ian Isham and Community Coach Sam Verralls will visit Aylesbury RFC Under 7s at their squad open day. Youngsters from local schools have been invited to try Tag Rugby at the Weston Turville club free of charge to help increase the number of young players in the age-group. Ian and Sam will be working with the Aylesbury RFC Under 7s coaches to create an Active, Purposeful, Enjoyable and Safe (APES) environment for the existing and new squad members, that is designed to reinforce and introduce the key Tag Rugby skills to the players in attendance.
Sting will be meeting Under 7 and Under 8 Tag Rugby players at Wasps FC, in West Acton, where 11 clubs are coming together to take part in the inaugural Wasps FC Tag Rugby Festival. The amateur arm of the Wasps Family will welcome Tag Rugby players to our Training Ground in West London.
Clubs from around Middlesex will be competing for the honour of being crowned Middlesex Under 9s Champions at Grasshopper RFC in West London. Sting will be there to meet and greet many of the players, coaches and their families, before helping with the Festival presentations.
London Wasps centre Chris Bell will represent London Wasps at the Hampshire Under 11s and 12s County Festival. Our Community Partners Eastleigh Pirates RFC will have the honour of hosting the prestigious event. Chris Bell will help with the festival presentations, meet some of the Hampshire County Representatives and support the young players by signing autographs and joining them posing for photographs.
Sting loves getting out in to our community and saying "hello" to everyone. If you would like Sting to support your event, please complete an enquiry form here.
